Who Works Here? Meet The Team Behind The New Haven’s Peaceful, Nurturing Environment

At The New Haven, we believe that the people who care for and teach your child are just as important as the space we create for them. Our mission is to build an environment where both children and parents feel supported, respected, and understood. But how do we achieve that? By choosing staff who embody the values we hold dear – those values that make The New Haven more than just a daycare or workspace.

When we hire, we’re looking for more than just credentials – we’re looking for people who will make a positive impact on the families we serve. Here’s what we seek in every staff member who joins The New Haven team:

Humility and Receptivity to Feedback and Coaching

Working with young children requires constant growth and reflection. We value team members who are open to feedback, eager to improve, and able to apply coaching to their work. This ensures that our staff are always striving to do their best for your child.

Excitement for Being Part of a Startup

Being part of a startup means that our team members are not just employees – they’re partners in building something meaningful. The New Haven is changing the way families experience their daily lives, and we’re looking for people who share that vision and excitement.

Gentleness and Patience

Children, especially infants and toddlers, need a gentle, patient presence to help them navigate the world around them. Our team understands that every child learns at their own pace and approach them with the care and empathy they need.

Collaborative Outlook

The care we provide is a partnership between parents, staff, and the children themselves. We believe that collaboration is key to ensuring a supportive, harmonious environment for everyone involved. Our staff works closely together, sharing ideas and strategies to create the best possible experience for your child.

Love of Learning

We hire people who are passionate about learning, both as educators and as individuals. This love of learning not only benefits our staff’s professional development but also enriches the experiences of the children in our care.

Leadership Ability

Whether it’s leading a classroom or guiding a child through a challenging moment, leadership is at the core of what we do. Our staff are empowered to lead with confidence, ensuring that each child receives the attention and support they need to thrive.

Creating Harmony

At The New Haven, we believe in creating a calm, balanced environment for children. This means not just managing behavior but fostering a space where children feel safe, respected, and able to explore and learn freely.

Commitment to Professional Growth

The growth of our staff is just as important as the growth of the children we care for. We support our staff in their professional development, whether it’s through continuing education or mentorship, to ensure they’re always learning and evolving in their roles.

Adaptability

As a business, we are constantly evolving to meet the needs of our families. Our team members are adaptable and willing to adjust to new circumstances, ensuring that we continue to provide the highest level of care as The New Haven grows and develops.

Willingness to Adapt Montessori Methods

Montessori methods are at the heart of our teaching philosophy. While we adapt them to fit our unique model, we prioritize creating an environment where children can learn at their own pace, explore their interests, and grow in a structured yet flexible way.

Strong Work Ethic and Positive Attitude

We look for staff who bring a positive, enthusiastic attitude to work every day. A strong work ethic is essential, but a cheerful outlook is what helps us create a welcoming, nurturing atmosphere for both children and parents.

Credentials

We place a high value on formal training. For our infant care teachers, we look for those with Early Childhood Development coursework, with in-house training to apply the Montessori method. For those teaching older children, Montessori certification is a must. Our staff members bring a blend of experience, education, and passion to their roles.

At The New Haven, we want to ensure that you and your child feel confident and cared for at every stage of their development. By building a team of individuals who embody these values, we’re able to create a peaceful, nurturing environment where your child can thrive.
